How Does My Child See The School Counselor?

Counseling is conducted with students individually, in small groups and in classroom settings.  Individual counseling is voluntary, confidential but not ongoing.  Parent permission is obtained prior to any group counseling.  All students receive the classroom lessons during each school year which does not require permission to participate.  Students are seen individual by the counselor when:

Parents request and indicate a need and desire that the counselor meet with their child

Students request counseling

Teachers, administrators, or other school staff refer the student
