Evergreen Budget Meetings

Over the next several months, the input will be reviewed, as the Washington state legislature grapples to modify school funding formulas. Different scenarios will be developed based on the most recent funding and staffing projections, along with the input received from the community. These plans will then be presented in two Community Budget Forums:

New District Attendance Policy

Students with extended absences of five or more days due to illness or other health conditions are required to provide a note from a doctor or appropriate medical provider to excuse the absences. The first four days will be excused sick (E-SK), however the fifth or more days will be unexcused sick (U-SK) if no doctor note is provided. This will be applied starting Feb 1, 2019. The Dr. note needs to have the starting and ending date of absence and the reason for the absece.

Young Children Safety

"We’ve been asked to pass on a public safety announcement from the Vancouver Police Department. Officers have noticed an alarming number of parents driving to and from schools with small children in the front seats of vehicles. It’s not only dangerous – it’s against the law. In Washington, the law states that “The driver of a vehicle transporting a child who is under 13 years old shall transport the child in the back seat positions in the vehicle where it is practical to do so.” The Vancouver Police Traffic Team has been, and will continue, conducting enforcement around schools to keep kids safe. Violating this important safety law could result in a citation."

Message from the PTA

Hello from Harmony PTA!

It is official:  We are starting our "HARMONY HELPING HANDS!" project and here is how you can help (by help we mean serve others and enter into a drawing for DISNEYLAND passes!)... read on!

We as a PTA have been looking for ways to not only bring Harmony families out into the community, but to also be mindful and help others.  We have made is easy and gathered a few options for you (this is your official hint to "pick one or two and show the community how its done!" :D):

  • Reading at The Quarry: 1st Wednesday @ 3:00 of each month families can sign up to bring their children to The Quarry Senior Living home to read to the residents. When you sign up, please only put the number of children who will be reading on the sign up. A parent *MUST* be with the child
