It’s that time of year already. Local Community Service organizations are starting to contact us about holiday resources.

City Bible Church Mill Plain is excited to host our 2nd annual Live.Love Christmas event again this year! We are partnering with local businesses to provide as many families as possible the ability to give their children gifts this Christmas.

On Saturday, December 20th, we will convert our Mill Plain Campus into a toy store. Families will have the opportunity to “shop” free of charge for Christmas presents for their children.

Starting NOW applications will be available for resource coordinators, counselors, and social workers of Evergreen School District, DSHS foster kids, and Vancouver Public Schools to fill out for students with Christmas gift needs.

Families are eligible for gifts if you can answer yes to at least one of the following questions:

  • Do children receive free or reduced lunch at school?
  • Does family currently receive state assistance (TANF, SSI, or food benefits)?
  • Are both parent(s) unemployed?
  • Child(ren) in foster care?

Applications will only be accepted if an approved Live.Love Christmas partner submits them (school counselor, social worker, resource coordinator or DSHS/CA worker). In addition to the above information you will need to know or have access to parent/guardian name, address, phone number, child’s name, gender, and age. Since we have a limited number of gifts, applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and availability of gifts.  You must submit in an application no later than December 1st.

Applications must be submitted online at:

(please do not give website link to families)

Parent(s)/guardian(s) will be contacted by December 12th, 2014. They will be assigned a specific pick-up time for the day of the event between 10am and 5pm with the location address. Parent(s)/guardian(s) must appear in person on Saturday, December 20th with the following:

  • Picture I.D. for themselves and some form of I.D. for each member of your household you want to receive gifts for.  (examples: school ID, report card, medical card, etc.)

A personal shopper will shop with parent(s)/guardian(s) to pick out approximately $25.00-$30 worth of merchandise per child. They are then escorted to have the gifts wrapped and are able to enjoy refreshments while waiting.

We look forward to serving with you this holiday season.

                                                       Thank you,
