The UHS Care Closet & Pantry offers a "shopping-style" food pantry for students and their families plus staff. The food pantry’s location on campus is accessible to students with staff assistance. Our partnership with the Clark County Food Bank and a group of parent volunteers help to keep this pantry full to suppport our community. This is especially helpful for students who are homeless or who don’t have transportation to another food pantry after school. In addition to food, the Care Closet also offers free clothing, personal hygiene items, and school supplies. Students ask their counselors, teachers, or other staff for these resources and are helped almost immediately. Free peer tutoring, study hall, and a quiet testing space can also be provided. This partnership & donated resources have enabled Union to offer a larger quantity and selection of items to students.

The basic purpose of the InvestED Fund is to provide timely assistance to individual students who have needs that must be resolved in order to realize their full potential in school. Funds can be used for classroom needs (class fees, textbooks, technology), health needs (school accident insurance, general health/dental/eye/hearing services), personal needs (clothes, transportation, school, breakfast/lunch, grooming, etc.), special program fees (testing fees, applications, etc.), school activities not related to the classroom (clubs, activities, ASB card, uniforms, etc.), and sports activities (insurance, equipment, etc.). This program is open to any student in financial need. Our policy is to help with $35 per student per current school year as long as we have funds available.
How you can contribute to InvestED Tax deductible donations can be made at the Union High School ASB Office. InvestED is a 501 (c) (3) organization.
The Giving Fund
The UHS Giving Fund is organized to ensure that all students can experience high school to the fullest, and not have lack of money be a barrier to their success. In the modern public high school that serves diverse populations, some students are unable to pay for extra fees due to financial hardship. The UHS Giving fund provides the support to these students in the form of financial assistance during each school year. Contact your student’s counselor for more information on getting help.
